Description

  • Define the QA strategy and quality approach for the engineering organization.
  • Lead the transition from regression-focused testing to a highly automated, risk-based Quality Assurance function.
  • Embed QA into the Shape Up process by participating in shaping, identifying risks, and defining success criteria early.
  • Lead adoption of AI tools and agentic workflows to improve quality, efficiency, and engineering throughput.
  • Design and maintain scalable test architectures that fit into developer workflows.
  • Write performance and integration test harnesses and debug flaky UI tests alongside developers.
  • Collaborate with the DevSecOps team on CI/CD pipelines, data integrity, and security testing.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of QA Engineers.
  • Mentor tech leads to build quality in from the start and share ownership of quality across engineering.
  • Translate technical risks into business implications for stakeholders and product leads.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Deep experience with Playwright or a similar testing tool.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and API testing tools such as Dredd or Pact.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants and building agentic workflows.
  • A track record of helping engineering teams shift left on quality.
  • Experience working in ISO27001-accredited or equivalent software development environments.
  • Proven experience building or testing software in a regulated environment such as Fintech or Banking.
  • Strong understanding of data accuracy at scale, PII protection, and robust audit trails.
  • Experience working in agile environments, ideally Shape Up, and with tools such as Linear.
  • Strong, direct communication skills with the ability to translate technical risks into business impact.
