Description

  • Design original computational chemistry problems that simulate real research workflows and practical applications.
  • Create problems that require programmatic solutions (e.g., Python) with numerical validation.
  • Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes (days/weeks).
  • Develop problems that require non-trivial reasoning chains in physical chemistry, quantum chemistry, and molecular modeling.
  • Base problem statements on real research challenges or practical chemistry applications.
  • Verify and validate solutions using Python and standard computational chemistry approaches.
  • Document problem statements clearly and provide verified, correct answers for each problem.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience (applied, research, or teaching) in chemistry or related areas.
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation (experience with numpy, scipy, and chemical libraries preferred).
  • Experience with numerical methods in chemistry and familiarity with computational chemistry concepts and methods.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages/tools (MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata) can be considered equivalent or complementary.
  • Strong written English (C1+) and ability to submit CV in English with indicated English proficiency.
  • Willingness to pass platform qualification(s) and participate on a part-time, non-permanent (project-based) basis.
  • Availability to work an estimated 10–20 hours per week during active project phases (estimate, not guaranteed).
