Description

  • Design, deploy, and maintain core security controls, defensive systems, and infrastructure guardrails.
  • Perform threat analysis and threat modeling to identify attack surfaces and practical mitigations.
  • Review new features and integration architectures for security risks.
  • Track vulnerability findings from scans, pentests, and bug reports through remediation.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain SIEM/SOAR platforms for detection and incident response.
  • Write, tune, and optimize detection rules and alerting queries to reduce false positives.
  • Investigate security alerts, perform forensic analysis, and lead incident response and escalation.
  • Document security reviews, threat models, incident investigations, and remediation work.
  • Support compliance and audit readiness through logging, evidence collection, and recordkeeping.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, attack techniques, and relevant security engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of hands-on experience building defensive security systems, implementing security controls, or working in security response environments.
  • Strong understanding of attack techniques, threat analysis, and incident response.
  • Experience managing vulnerability findings from identification through remediation.
  • Working knowledge of SIEM/SOAR platforms and detection rule writing such as SPL, KQL, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of network, host, application, and cloud security concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating with small, international teams across multiple time zones.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours when needed for incident response.
  • Familiarity with threat modeling frameworks such as STRIDE or MITRE ATT&CK (preferred).
  • Experience implementing automated security controls and infrastructure security tooling (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms at scale such as Sumo Logic, Splunk, Azure Sentinel, Datadog, or similar (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud security monitoring in AWS, Azure, or GCP and native security services (preferred).
  • Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes and securing cloud-native workloads (preferred).
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001/2, NIST, SOC2, GDPR, or DORA (preferred).
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language; Python preferred.
  • Experience with at least one query language such as KQL or similar.
