Description

  • Build and maintain WordPress websites, including custom themes, page builder builds, content updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement responsive designs accurately with smooth interactions and cross-browser support.
  • Work in a headless WordPress architecture, connecting WordPress as a CMS to a decoupled front-end layer.
  • Support the migration to a modern static-site front end such as Astro or a similar framework.
  • Improve site performance and Core Web Vitals through caching, image optimization, and related best practices.
  • Ship landing pages and experiments for paid campaigns.
  • Support integrations such as forms, CRM connections, call tracking, analytics, tag/pixel setup, and server-side tracking.
  • Implement technical SEO elements including schema, redirects, sitemaps, indexation fixes, and internal linking.
  • Debug and resolve issues across plugins, themes, hosting, DNS, SSL, and other environment-specific problems.
  • Collaborate with design, SEO, and strategy teams using tickets, code reviews, QA checklists, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of professional web development experience.
  • Solid WordPress experience with custom themes/components, page builders, and hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with headless WordPress (decoupled CMS plus front-end framework).
  • Experience with Astro or a comparable modern static/SSR framework such as Next.js, Nuxt, or SvelteKit.
  • Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills with comfort implementing modern responsive layouts.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility basics, and production debugging.
  • Must be available to work 9am–6pm EST.
  • Experience with React for front-end components or microsites is a plus.
  • Python experience with a web framework such as Django or Flask for small services or automations is a plus.
  • Technical SEO depth, including structured data and crawl/indexation troubleshooting, is a plus.
  • Hosting and operations experience with WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudflare, or VPS setups is a plus.
  • Analytics instrumentation experience with GTM, GA4 events, conversion APIs, or call tracking platforms is a plus.
  • Experience building reusable WordPress blocks/components in Gutenberg or custom plugin work is a plus.
