Description

  • Serve as the compliance lead and primary point of contact for assigned issuing bank partners.
  • Build subject matter expertise on each bank’s regulatory expectations, contractual obligations, risk tolerance, and oversight practices.
  • Manage day-to-day compliance relationships with bank counterparts, including regular check-ins and responses to inquiries.
  • Coordinate audit and exam readiness for assigned banks and programs.
  • Act as the internal DRI to interpret, operationalize, and monitor bank-specific and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, Product, Customer Support, Bank Partnerships, and GTM teams on launches, marketing, and operational changes.
  • Advise stakeholders on compliance issues, audit findings, and regulatory developments affecting assigned programs.
  • Support issue remediation through root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable controls.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing oversight of programs, including due diligence reviews, site visits, and risk mitigation planning.
  • Develop and refine policies, procedures, controls, and playbooks for consistent application of requirements across programs.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in a compliance role within a financial institution, fintech, payments company, or bank-focused consulting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer compliance regulations, including Reg E, Reg Z, UDAAP, Reg DD, BSA/AML, and others.
  • Experience supporting or working directly with sponsor banks, BaaS platforms, and/or payments companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management and communication skills with the ability to translate regulatory obligations into practical operational requirements.
  • Experience operationalizing and monitoring compliance programs with strong risk and control design judgment.
  • Comfort interpreting contractual language, policies, and guidance from regulators and bank partners.
  • Understanding of regulatory expectations in financial services, fintech, or payments, including OCC, FDIC, FRB, and partner bank oversight models.
  • Certification such as CRCM, CAMS, GRCP, or other relevant education preferred.
  • Experience with program management or customer due diligence for fintech or payments programs preferred.
  • Exposure to regulatory exams or audit readiness for BaaS models preferred.
