Description

  • Lead one or more cross-functional squads within the SAP domain and own delivery outcomes, team health, and engineering quality.
  • Partner with Product Management to maintain a healthy backlog, align priorities, and sequence delivery sustainably.
  • Own the performance and development of direct reports through 1:1s, feedback, expectations, and growth plans.
  • Manage stakeholders across teams, resolve delivery risks, and maintain alignment across functions.
  • Drive engineering excellence by championing practices such as TDD, CI/CD, trunk-based development, and sound software design patterns.
  • Contribute to cross-team technical decisions on architecture, non-functional requirements, and tooling.
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks in skills, processes, and tooling at squad and domain level.
  • Build working knowledge of the SAP platform to guide delivery decisions, assess complexity, and support hiring and onboarding.
  • Monitor delivery metrics, transparency of progress, and continuous improvement across squads.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role with direct people management responsibility.
  • Experience conducting performance and development conversations.
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as SAP, or the ability to become fluent in them quickly.
  • SAP experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience transitioning enterprise platforms to cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is highly valuable.
  • Experience operating in a complex or multi-squad delivery environment with competing priorities and cross-team dependencies.
  • Experience developing engineers and/or team leads through structured feedback, coaching, and career conversations.
  • Ability to manage and influence a broad stakeholder group with proactive communication of delivery risk.
  • Solid grounding in modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, testing frameworks, software design patterns, and DevOps tooling.
  • Strong communication skills to translate between technical and non-technical audiences quickly.
