Description

  • Design and build the Azure Government environment against the approved reference architecture.
  • Author and maintain Terraform infrastructure code and deployment pipelines with versioned, reviewed redeployments.
  • Implement security architecture using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, hardened STIG/CIS baselines, and FIPS-mode configurations.
  • Develop customer-managed-key infrastructure with the product team.
  • Build the machine-readable evidence pipeline required for FedRAMP 20x.
  • Coordinate daily with advisory partner engineers on endpoint security deployment.
  • Create operational runbooks covering patching, vulnerability scanning, backup and restore testing, and break-glass access.
  • Lead the on-call rotation as the operations team develops.
  • Represent the environment during third-party assessments by demonstrating controls, producing evidence, and remediating findings.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of cloud infrastructure or platform engineering experience, including 3+ years with Azure at production scale.
  • Azure Government experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Production Kubernetes experience, preferably AKS, including Windows node pools and containerized .NET workloads.
  • Working knowledge of Azure Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Private Link, Entra ID, and managed identities.
  • Experience with FedRAMP, DoD CC SRG, StateRAMP/GovRAMP, PCI, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or an equivalent regulated framework.
  • Familiarity with FIPS 140 and STIG hardening.
  • Ability to explain technical controls clearly to non-engineering assessors.
  • FedRAMP 20x or OSCAL experience and AZ-500 or Azure Solutions Architect certification preferred.
  • Experience migrating commercial SaaS products to sovereign or government cloud environments preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, able to work from the United States, and not require visa sponsorship.
  • Must complete background screening, identity verification, security training, and annual incident-response exercises.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call or U.S. business-hours coverage.
