Description

  • Own the design system across Figma and code, including React components, tokens, and patterns used by engineers.
  • Keep the Figma design system library aligned with production and evolve it as the system changes.
  • Raise UI quality across the product by improving transitions, micro-interactions, responsive behavior, loading states, edge cases, and accessibility.
  • Build production-ready code for design system components, product UI improvements, and internal tooling.
  • Create and improve tooling, prototyping workflows, component documentation, and development environment processes.
  • Collaborate closely with product designers to translate design direction into polished, shipped experiences.
  • Work directly with frontend and full-stack engineers to establish reusable patterns and review UI implementations.
  • Identify friction in design and engineering workflows and redesign processes to help the team move faster.
  • Mentor teammates on UI craft and help raise the standard for what “done” means in the codebase.

Requirements

  • 6+ years building production-ready frontend code in complex, component-driven applications.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript, React, and modern CSS, with Tailwind experience.
  • Strong opinions about component architecture, performance, and maintainability.
  • A portfolio or body of work demonstrating both technical depth and design sensibility.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining production design systems, not just Figma libraries.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Base UI, Storybook, and Figma Code Connect is a plus.
  • Exposure to microfrontend architectures, Vite, and composition APIs is a bonus.
  • Track record of building internal tools, developer experience improvements, or workflow automation.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, with Claude Code experience expected.
  • Familiarity with MCPs and how tools like Figma, Figma Console, and Notion connect into AI-assisted workflows.
  • U.S.-based preferred with core overlap hours required.
  • Hands-on individual contributor experience; this is not a people management role.
