Description

  • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes, procedures, and verification controls for regulatory, safety, and EV product compliance.
  • Partner with Homologation to translate applicable regulatory requirements into manufacturing, inspection, and product release requirements.
  • Establish and maintain compliance checklists by model, market, destination, product configuration, and EV-specific requirements.
  • Participate in forward-model, launch, and product release readiness reviews to confirm compliance before production and customer release.
  • Verify certification labels, tire/loading labels, Monroney/window stickers, EPA EV labels, VIN accuracy, and market-specific content.
  • Support EV-specific compliance readiness for high-voltage safety, battery controls, electric powertrain integrity, electrical isolation, and charging-related information.
  • Maintain objective evidence of regulatory checks, safety audits, release approvals, escalations, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and perform surveillance audits of production processes based on safety, regulatory, homologation, EV compliance, and release risk.
  • Audit process controls for significant characteristics, high-voltage component installation, battery and propulsion controls, rework, deviations, and final release controls.
  • Lead cross-functional response teams and coordinate corrective actions when safety, regulatory, labeling, or compliance issues are detected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory Compliance, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, quality, regulatory, homologation, launch, or product compliance.
  • Experience with government regulatory compliance topics, preferably including FMVSS, certification labeling, tire/loading labels, Monroney/window stickers, EPA Fuel Economy & Environment labels, homologation, export-market compliance, or EV safety regulations.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes, inspection controls, and release readiness requirements for new or unique products.
  • Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, product release controls, engineering changes, deviations, rework processes, and production quality systems.
  • Experience with control plans, PFMEA, special characteristics, error-proofing, layered process audits, containment, and corrective action processes.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory or homologation requirements and translate them into manufacturing and quality controls.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and escalate compliance risks clearly.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and program management capabilities.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Regulatory Affairs, or a related technical discipline.
  • Preferred: Experience in EV manufacturing, high-voltage systems, battery systems, electric powertrain controls, or related automotive safety/regulatory processes.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of FMVSS, NHTSA requirements, global homologation standards, product integrity processes, and EV-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting product launches and new vehicle introduction programs.
  • Preferred: ASQ, Six Sigma, or similar quality certification.
  • Preferred: Experience working directly with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, third-party inspectors, or external auditors.
