Description

  • Design, model, and develop the AWS data ecosystem for a client.
  • Gather, analyze, model, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Work directly with clients to identify needs and improvement opportunities.
  • Model data from multiple sources and technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and support complex, high-impact data issues.
  • Design and optimize data storage architectures such as data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed file systems.
  • Implement storage and retrieval optimizations including partitioning, compression, indexing, caching, and query tuning.
  • Monitor system performance, identify anomalies, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Resolve issues related to data processing, storage, and infrastructure.
  • Train and mentor less experienced data engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with AWS cloud-based infrastructure and systems.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS and cloud computing services.
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying cloud data pipelines from databases, APIs, and streaming platforms.
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases; BigQuery is a must.
  • Programming skills in SQL, Python, and other scripting languages.
  • Experience with data modeling, database optimization, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of at least one orchestration and scheduling tool, with Airflow as a must.
  • Experience with ETL and ELT data integration techniques.
  • Knowledge of modern data transformation tools such as DBT or Dataform.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to actively participate in or lead client discussions.
  • Experience with tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Open to learning new technologies and solutions.
  • Experience working in a multinational environment and with distributed teams.
