Description

  • Promote and sell future expeditions through guest engagement, consultations, presentations, and workshops.
  • Build relationships with guests through dining, shore excursions, and personalized discussions about destinations and itineraries.
  • Maintain current knowledge of voyages, itineraries, offers, and the National Geographic-Lindblad product range.
  • Manage onboard sales hours, process bookings, coordinate with shoreside reservations teams, and follow up on leads.
  • Coordinate onboard marketing, merchandising, and promotional materials with shoreside sales and marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with expedition, hotel, reception, purser, and shoreside teams throughout each voyage.
  • Track sales metrics, bookings, revenue trends, guest feedback, and market intelligence in voyage recap reports.
  • Support embarkation, guest check-in, reception, base camp operations, cabin preparation, and guest inquiries.
  • Participate in presentations, end-of-day recaps, mandatory drills, safety duties, and field-related guest support.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Hotel Director.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of successful customer-facing sales experience, preferably in travel, tourism, or adventure sectors.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization, administration, time management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Service-oriented approach with the ability to tailor conversations to guest needs.
  • Ability to work independently, meet sales targets, and collaborate effectively with onboard and shoreside teams.
  • Comfort working aboard a ship for extended periods, in remote locations, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • US passport, or US permanent resident card with a valid passport; required medical certificate and Maritime Security Awareness certification.
  • Previous shipboard or travel-industry experience, knowledge of Lindblad Expeditions, and public speaking or presentation experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, move between decks, participate in excursions, and live onboard for up to eight months annually.
  • Availability for a 4-month onboard / 2-month off rotation, averaging 12-hour workdays over a 7-day week.
  • Employment requires background screening, drug testing, and a post-offer physical examination confirming fitness for sea duty.
