Description

  • Develop functional and technical security requirements and serve as a point of contact for information system security issues.
  • Prepare and update FISMA, Capital Planning, and other mandated security reports.
  • Evaluate system environments, architectures, technologies, threats, vulnerabilities, and security controls.
  • Manage controls supporting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
  • Integrate security requirements into system development, acquisition, and procurement processes.
  • Conduct security assessments and support Assessment and Authorization activities.
  • Create and maintain System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and other ATO documentation.
  • Perform risk assessments, vulnerability mitigation, continuous monitoring, patch management, and security scanning.
  • Monitor application, system, and security logs; report suspicious activity and coordinate incident response.
  • Support contingency planning, security awareness training, procedural documentation, and other duties assigned by the ISSM or CISO.

Requirements

  • Public Trust eligibility or clearance.
  • 5–8 years of direct experience supporting federal cybersecurity programs as an ISSO.
  • Experience drafting FISMA artifacts, including SSPs, incident response plans, configuration management plans, FIPS 199 assessments, contingency plans, security assessment plans and reports, POA&Ms, and training materials.
  • Experience applying NIST Special Publications to information systems.
  • Experience performing continuous monitoring of security controls.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools including Tenable, Qualys, and GRC platforms such as Xacta, eMass, or CSAM.
  • Experience participating in security assessments or audits.
  • Experience conducting NIST-aligned security assessments, audits, and control implementations preferred.
  • DoD 8570 IAM Level 2, CIPP, CCSK, CISM, or GRC certification preferred.
