Description

  • Own and manage a diverse client portfolio as the primary point of contact and trusted business adviser.
  • Advise clients on complex commercial matters across tech, healthcare, SaaS, fintech, healthtech, NDIS and other emerging sectors.
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial and IT contracts.
  • Advise on intellectual property, licensing and partnership arrangements.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, privacy law and consumer law matters.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with in-house legal teams and business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to add value and support client business growth.
  • Work with the Practice Leader to manage, mentor and train junior lawyers and graduates.
  • Help junior team members develop technical skills and commercial judgment.
  • Contribute to the growth and direction of LegalVision's practice.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practise in New Zealand.
  • At least 5 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Currently holding, or willing to hold, a New South Wales practising certificate.
  • Extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements across multiple industries and transaction types.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with legal and business stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and a solutions-oriented approach to legal advice.
  • Ability to quickly understand different businesses, industries and legal requirements and adapt accordingly.
  • Experience directly managing or supervising junior lawyers.
  • Collaborative team player who leads by example and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
