Description

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for robotic applications with attention to functionality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Own a hardware module and understand, develop, and improve its requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and product managers, to integrate mechanical designs with other system components.
  • Build and test prototypes by hand and iterate designs based on performance data.
  • Use a variety of manufacturing processes and materials to optimize designs for performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in design reviews and present concepts and prototypes to stakeholders.
  • Manage documentation for project plans, design specifications, and testing procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing past projects and designs.
  • Practical experience building and testing mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on fabrication skills are highly valued.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for actuation, mechanisms, and robotics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative approach to mechanical design challenges.
  • Familiarity with simulation software for stress analysis, thermal environments, and dynamics is preferred.
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, machining, and injection molding is preferred.
