Description

  • Define architectural standards and lead the design of complex systems, integrations, workflows, and data models.
  • Drive technical strategy, conduct architecture reviews, and guide major cross-team decisions.
  • Champion AI-assisted development, including LLM use in coding, testing, documentation, reviews, and operations.
  • Design agentic systems and evaluate emerging AI technologies for measurable business and engineering impact.
  • Improve code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, deployment safety, and incident response.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, Pharmacy, Customer Care, Growth, and Finance to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Lead initiatives from concept through implementation, rollout, and operational support.
  • Mentor engineers through design, architecture, and code reviews while influencing engineering culture.
  • Simplify complex operational workflows and improve customer experiences through technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating complex, production-scale systems.
  • Expert-level Ruby on Rails experience, including modern web architecture, distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience leading technical architecture, engineering direction, mentorship, and delivery of reliable, observable, high-performing systems.
  • Strong product and business judgment with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep experience with LLMs, AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude, Codex, or GitHub Copilot, and AI-powered products, agents, automation, or developer workflows.
  • Understanding of agent architectures, retrieval systems, tool-calling, evaluation frameworks, and AI reliability.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
  • Preferred: experience in regulated industries, eCommerce, subscriptions, logistics, operations-heavy environments, event-driven systems, workflow orchestration, platform engineering, or AI governance.
