Description

  • Generate patient statements accurately and reconcile patient balances in the revenue cycle management system against insurance explanation of benefits and statement records.
  • Support call center operations by handling inbound patient billing calls and clarifying statement questions.
  • Establish payment terms with patients, including payment plans, CareCredit or financial assistance applications, and negotiated discounts within company policy.
  • Process patient payments, billing holds, refunds, adjustments, and write-offs using revenue cycle management systems.
  • Research and resolve patient billing issues and escalate cases to leadership when appropriate.
  • Initiate outbound collection calls to drive patient cash collections and reduce bad debt.
  • Monitor daily and weekly collection tasks to meet patient collection goals and improve cash flow.
  • Identify recurring patient complaint drivers and communicate them to supervisors to support process improvement and customer experience.
  • Assist in developing training materials that can be shared across functions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Collections and customer support teams to improve the overall patient collection process.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in a healthcare billing and/or collections environment.
  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare customer service environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 1 year of experience in a DME/HME environment preferred.
  • Experience with Bonafide and/or CollectPlus preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Ability to work a Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Standard Time schedule.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote-based environment.
  • Ability to perform frequent computer, phone, and repetitive keyboard/mouse work.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the U.S. because visa sponsorship is not available.
