Description

  • Lead and manage all editorial staff and content workflows across digital and print platforms.
  • Own and manage the editorial budget in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on online presence and content strategy.
  • Define and enforce editorial best practices to maintain high-quality output across all platforms.
  • Serve as the final decision-maker on all published content.
  • Cultivate and maintain a network of subject-matter experts, writers, policymakers, and other contributors.
  • Support strategic initiatives in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Expand investigative reporting capacity and develop long-form feature content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or a closely related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7 to 10 years of professional journalism experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience leading editorial teams and managing editorial workflow.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong editorial judgment with the ability to make high-quality decisions quickly.
  • Familiarity with modern audience-building techniques and media innovation is preferred.
  • Proven track record commissioning and editing ambitious investigative and long-form feature work is preferred.
  • Familiarity with purpose-driven organizations and audience or community engagement is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $140,000 to $160,000 depending on experience.
