Description

  • Grow sales revenue and test volume by winning new hospital business and expanding usage within existing accounts.
  • Build, manage, and nurture regional hospital and health system relationships across the assigned territory.
  • Prioritize and segment accounts to maximize growth opportunities.
  • Present product features, benefits, and clinical value to key stakeholders using a consultative sales approach.
  • Lead early evaluations, support adoption, and drive increased utilization over time.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the science, technology, and differentiation of the Karius test.
  • Develop trusted-advisor relationships and demonstrate return on investment for partner accounts.
  • Secure and renew contracts and agreements when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales leadership, and Product leadership to support territory goals and gather market feedback.
  • Participate in meetings, training programs, conventions, trade shows, and complete sales documentation and administrative tasks in Salesforce.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 5 years of sales or business development experience in Life Sciences, Biotech, Medical Device, Diagnostic Equipment, and/or Pharmaceutical industries.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful experience introducing transformational, novel products or services to physicians and hospitals before broad peer-reviewed or guideline support existed.
  • Existing network of relationships in hospitals and health systems, including microbiology labs, send-out labs, physician groups, C-level executives, and clinical administrators.
  • Strong vision and planning capabilities to grow a territory.
  • Excellent business acumen, analytical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build credibility with executives, physicians, and lab directors through subject matter and industry expertise.
  • Demonstrated track record of top sales achievement and exceeding sales objectives.
  • Experience with multi-level account management.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, growth-oriented environment.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to lead discussions with small and large groups.
