Description

  • Serve as K2’s point of contact for certification-related matters, including range safety compliance, launch vehicle user guide compliance, ground operations plans, payload certification plans, customer-launch provider interactions, and qualification reports.
  • Act as the launch provider point of contact and help ensure launch vehicle ICDs are closed and verified, launch operations plans are robust, and missions execute successfully.
  • Represent the payload provider in certification forums and ensure payloads meet applicable K2 and launch provider requirements.
  • Support payload integration readiness reviews, pre-ship reviews, launch readiness reviews, and flight readiness reviews.
  • Review and help shape future customer and launch vehicle contracts and statements of work (SOWs).
  • Improve and evolve the certification process by developing new methods to increase execution speed and efficiency.
  • Work closely with internal design, reliability, program management, legal, engineering, and leadership teams to resolve issues and enable launch readiness.
  • Feed lessons learned and best practices from spacecraft testing back into engineering to optimize future payload missions.
  • Advocate for K2 and its customers across multiple forums to prevent certification, verification, or execution blockers at integration, testing, or launch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or science.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical aerospace or manufacturing.
  • 2+ years of experience managing projects, technical trades, and/or technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of launch vehicles, spacecraft, or other aerospace systems and their certification and/or verification processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering or science discipline (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in technical aerospace or manufacturing (preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience managing projects or technical trades (preferred).
  • Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance (preferred).
  • Experience leading spacecraft qualification, verification, or certification efforts for single or constellation-level projects (preferred).
  • Experience working with payload or launch provider contracts and SOWs (preferred).
  • Proven ability to drive process improvement and lessons-learned workflows (preferred).
  • Ability to generate executive summaries for senior leadership decision-making (preferred).
  • Demonstrated track record of project ownership and successful execution (preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
