Description

  • Lead and manage one or more cross-functional engineering teams across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and mobile.
  • Own delivery, quality, and technical outcomes for the engineering teams.
  • Own and drive strategic initiatives within the engineering department.
  • Partner with Product, Trading, and senior engineering leadership to translate business needs into technical execution.
  • Improve engineering processes including planning, estimation, CI/CD, code reviews, testing, and release management.
  • Guide architectural decisions for systems running on hybrid infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and observability of production systems.
  • Identify and reduce technical debt while maintaining delivery velocity.
  • Hire, onboard, mentor, and grow engineers, including conducting 1:1s and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, customer focus, and results orientation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in an Engineering Manager role.
  • Background in financial systems, trading platforms, or other high-reliability domains.
  • Strong understanding of backend systems.
  • Experience operating systems across cloud environments, including EC2, networking, security, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as metrics, logging, and alerting, plus performance monitoring.
  • Experience with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid environments (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in Ruby (preferred).
  • Experience with low-latency or high-throughput systems, trading, fintech, or market-data platforms (preferred).
  • Experience scaling teams and systems (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (preferred).
