Description

  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise COBOL applications.
  • Develop and support online transaction processing using CICS.
  • Build, modify, and maintain large-scale batch processing applications.
  • Implement software enhancements, defect corrections, and performance improvements.
  • Analyze and resolve production issues in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support application maintenance, system stability, and on-call production support as needed.
  • Work closely with business analysts, architects, developers, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Support system integration efforts as legacy applications evolve alongside modern platforms.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, development planning, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of mainframe application development experience.
  • Strong experience programming in COBOL.
  • Experience developing CICS online applications.
  • Experience working within large-scale batch processing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort participating in technical discussions and collaborating across distributed teams.
  • Experience with healthcare or insurance claims processing systems (preferred).
  • Exposure to application modernization or cloud transformation initiatives (preferred).
