Description

  • Lead the creation, support, and maintenance of accurate administrative code set mappings using IMO Health’s interface terminology.
  • Perform initial mapping and quality assurance across multiple code sets in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines.
  • Support product release schedules by resolving mapping issues and completing complex release-related tasks.
  • Identify and implement improvements to mapping quality and operational efficiency.
  • Manage complex customer inquiries and contribute to cross-functional discussions.
  • Develop clear editorial content with appropriate examples and manage the editorial process.
  • Participate in tool enhancement and redesign initiatives.
  • Mentor and support junior team members and provide leadership in team discussions and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Create and deliver presentations and training materials on mapping-related topics for other departments.
  • Contribute to process documentation, quality assurance strategies, and team standards.
  • Serve as a lead subject matter expert on revenue cycle and health information management matters across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with US-based code sets, including ICD-10-CM/PCS, ICD-9-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
  • One of the following credentials is required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in health information management systems or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience with medical records coding, electronic health records, and medical terminology.
  • Experience with claims edits, payor denials, and/or risk-adjustment coding is required.
  • Proven leadership experience, including mentoring peers and contributing to cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills for complex mapping scenarios.
  • Ability to identify emerging trends and help others assess and mitigate risk.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to influence across departments.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and committed to high-quality results.
