Description

  • Develop and oversee implementation of the FORTIFIED Roof program in alignment with established standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, industry stakeholders, and government agencies to expand adoption of FORTIFIED roofing standards.
  • Conduct research and analyze data on roofing performance during natural disasters to inform program improvements.
  • Create and manage educational initiatives for architects, builders, and homeowners about FORTIFIED roofing benefits.
  • Represent the Institute in industry forums, working groups, and conferences to advocate for roof resilience policies and practices.
  • Develop partnerships with insurers, building trades, and community organizations to broaden program reach and impact.
  • Oversee evaluation and certification of FORTIFIED Roof projects to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
  • Monitor building code trends, industry developments, and roofing technology advancements to keep the program current.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders on roofing systems and FORTIFIED standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the construction, engineering, or insurance industries with a focus on roofing systems.
  • Strong understanding of roofing design, installation practices, resilience strategies, and building codes and standards.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, build relationships, and manage multiple stakeholders with diverse interests.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex technical information to varied audiences.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and applications for project management and data analysis.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as AIA, LEED, or similar are a plus.
