Description

  • Lead architecture for the Partnerships platform across identity, cart, checkout, attribution, and partner orchestration.
  • Define boundaries and contracts between partner-facing and internal systems to support fast, repeatable partnership launches.
  • Build reusable platform primitives, APIs, services, workflows, configuration, and tooling for partner integrations.
  • Reduce per-partner customization by making differences explicit, intentional, and configuration-driven where possible.
  • Partner with product and partner teams to define SLAs, integration playbooks, and technical standards.
  • Align partnership requirements with roadmaps across Identity, Payments, Cart, Checkout, Fulfillment, Retailer Engineering, Mobile Platform, Growth, and Marketing.
  • Represent the Partnerships technical perspective in cross-functional forums and help avoid one-off solutions.
  • Translate ambiguous partner and business goals into concrete technical plans that the team can execute.
  • Mentor and uplevel engineers through system design, tradeoffs, and execution in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Work directly with external partner engineering teams to support embedded integrations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer building and operating large-scale backend or full-stack systems.
  • Significant experience in a technical lead or Staff-level capacity.
  • Proven track record designing and evolving platforms or integration frameworks such as partner ecosystems, B2B platforms, or multi-tenant systems.
  • Deep experience with distributed systems and APIs, including service boundaries, data modeling, reliability, observability, and performance.
  • Experience working on user-facing flows such as identity, cart, checkout, or payments.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and uplevel engineers across levels, including L4–L6 equivalent.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with product, design, data, and external or partner engineering teams.
  • Experience architecting or leading partner integrations at a consumer or platform company, preferably across multiple partners or domains.
  • Comfort working in environments where strategy, architecture, and execution are tightly coupled.
  • Prior experience interacting regularly with external stakeholders such as partner engineers, business development, or legal.

  • Base pay range for Canadian candidates: $22,900 to $241,500 CAD.
