Description

  • Identify business-critical security risks across Instacart’s product and infrastructure.
  • Analyze risks and define remediation strategies with actionable roadmaps.
  • Develop scalable systems that encourage secure engineering patterns.
  • Own and drive systemic security improvements across engineering and other functions.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to enable secure product and internal tool launches.
  • Assume ownership of security risks and work to mitigate whole classes of vulnerabilities.
  • Coach and mentor other engineers within the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering or Offensive Security roles.
  • 3+ years of experience performing code reviews and design reviews.
  • Knowledge of security bug classes and best-practice remediation techniques.
  • Understanding of SaaS architectures, common risks, and threat models.
  • Experience with Variant Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, or Secure Frameworks.
  • Track record of security research, competitive hacking, or OSS contributions (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $230,000-$242,000 USD for CA, NY, CT, and NJ.
  • Base salary range of $220,000-$232,000 USD for Washington.
  • Base salary range of $211,000-$222,000 USD for OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, and HI.
  • Base salary range of $192,000-$202,000 USD for all other states.
  • Eligible for a new hire equity grant.
  • Eligible for annual refresh equity grants.
