Description

  • Own and improve core design system infrastructure, including repositories, publishing workflows, and component playgrounds.
  • Evolve token workflows, theming strategies, and distribution of tokens into product codebases.
  • Reduce design-to-code drift by improving contribution workflows and embedding guardrails into team processes and tools.
  • Contribute to component implementations with maintainable patterns, scalable architecture, accessibility defaults, and cross-platform consistency.
  • Build internal tools such as Figma plugins, scripts, generators, PR and CI checks, lint rules, and automated quality gates.
  • Model system guidance in structured formats that can power checks, in-tool guidance, and automation.
  • Measure adoption and quality, identify recurring sources of rework, and iterate on tooling and standards.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate audits, migrations, and repetitive tasks while maintaining security and quality standards.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience across product design and/or front-end engineering, including experience shipping and maintaining a design system used by multiple product teams.
  • A portfolio demonstrating design systems expertise across components, patterns, tokens, and governance; portfolio link required.
  • Advanced proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and a modern front-end framework such as React.
  • Proven experience delivering internal tools such as Figma plugins, scripts, CLIs, or CI automations with attention to testing and maintainability.
  • Strong Figma systems experience, including component architecture, variants and props strategy, naming conventions, library structure, and publishing/versioning.
  • Strong understanding of design tokens, including semantic versus primitive tokens, theming and density, and mapping token decisions to UI intent.
  • Experience reasoning about component UX, including anatomy, states, edge cases, responsive behavior, motion, and accessibility defaults.
  • Hands-on experience working in shared component codebases or monorepos with multi-team contribution models.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development or design workflows to reduce toil and accelerate delivery with good judgment and security awareness.
  • Experience driving system adoption through metrics, deprecation and migration programs, and cross-functional enablement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: Experience developing and shipping Figma plugins.
  • Preferred: Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code and prompt-driven automation.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with token pipelines and tools such as CSS variables, semantic token architectures, or Style Dictionary.
  • Preferred: Experience with Storybook or similar docs and playground infrastructure.
  • Preferred: Experience with visual regression testing and UI QA automation.
  • Preferred: Deep accessibility expertise applied through guardrails, linters, and automation.
  • Preferred: Experience with native UI frameworks such as SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose and cross-platform design enablement.
  • Preferred: Fluency across the full product design process from discovery and ideation through prototyping and validation.

  • Base salary range of $199,000-$210,000 for CA, NY, CT, and NJ.
  • Base salary range of $191,000-$201,500 for WA.
  • Base salary range of $183,000-$193,000 for OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, and HI.
  • Base salary range of $166,000-$175,000 for all other states.
