Description

  • Own the full lifecycle of projects and features, including engineering design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Improve code structure and architecture to increase testability and maintainability.
  • Write, co-write, and review design documentation.
  • Maintain high proficiency in one or more technical areas.
  • Prioritize and take ownership of unowned or undesirable work that helps the team move faster.
  • Ensure work meets quality standards.
  • Collaborate with their team and adjacent teams to solve problems.
  • Escalate issues that have broader impact or wider scope.
  • Assist and mentor other engineers on an individual basis.
  • Complete thoughtful and constructive code reviews in a timely manner.
  • Own one or more product areas or serve in another individual contributor leadership role such as Product Lead or Scrum Master.

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years of software engineering or software development experience, preferably in a related field.
  • Strong understanding of computer science concepts, including object-oriented design, multi-threaded architecture, data structures, algorithms, and cybersecurity.
  • Hands-on programming experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience with React or similar frontend frameworks.
  • Experience with development tool suites such as IntelliJ or equivalent, Git, and Webpack.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for building applications that delight users.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working on a team using agile methodologies.
  • Experience in a leadership or team lead role strongly preferred.
  • Strong web programming skills, including HTML5, CSS3, ES6, React, TypeScript, Less/Sass, Webpack, and responsive layout.
