Description

  • Build Shopify storefronts, themes, apps, and integrations to defined technical approaches, coding standards, and acceptance criteria.
  • Deliver work across BAU support, retainers, mini projects, and implementation projects.
  • Estimate assigned work accurately, including testing, review, and deployment effort.
  • Identify ambiguous requirements, hidden dependencies, scope changes, and risks to timelines or budgets before or during development.
  • Test work against acceptance criteria, including functional, cross-browser, responsive, and regression testing, and document QA evidence in Jira.
  • Fix defects, triage and resolve assigned incidents, and distinguish defects from change requests.
  • Support deployments, releases, go-live activities, environment checks, and post-release verification.
  • Participate in code reviews, maintain readable and documented code, and follow coding, theme architecture, and deployment standards.
  • Maintain accurate Jira tickets, daily time logs, written updates, and timely escalation of blockers.
  • Track Shopify platform changes, use AI development tooling, and contribute to internal R&D and capability building.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience, including significant Shopify Plus and enterprise merchant configuration experience.
  • Deep expertise in Liquid, Shopify theme architecture, and performance-conscious storefront development.
  • Hands-on experience with Checkout UI Extensions, Customer Account Extensions, Shopify Functions, Markets, and the Storefront and Admin APIs.
  • Experience developing custom public and private Shopify apps.
  • Experience with third-party integration patterns, such as ERP, loyalty, fulfilment, and POS systems.
  • Understanding of Git workflows and CI/CD deployment pipelines in a Shopify environment.
  • Proven ability to estimate accurately and deliver within defined scope in an agency or professional-services environment.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills and ability to raise issues early.
  • Ability to work remotely from the Philippines with overlap with Australian Eastern business hours; Hydrogen and React experience is preferred.
