Description

  • Shape the technical direction for build, test, and deploy systems that support how HubSpot ships software.
  • Drive architectural decisions across pipeline design, test infrastructure, deployment orchestration, and developer ergonomics.
  • Design and implement AI-powered QA agents that evaluate every deploy and reduce delivery risk.
  • Write production code regularly and lead complex initiatives from concept through rollout.
  • Turn ambiguous infrastructure problems into simple, scalable systems and clear technical direction.
  • Challenge existing assumptions about build systems, deployment pipelines, and testing infrastructure.
  • Drive the roadmap toward 500+ deploys per minute by identifying and removing delivery bottlenecks.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to align release engineering priorities with broader company needs.
  • Work across teams to guide technical tradeoffs, rationalize configuration and change management, and raise platform quality.
  • Act as a multiplier through design reviews, technical mentoring, and principled decision-making on critical systems.

Requirements

  • Deep experience building and evolving large-scale distributed systems, especially in CI/CD, build infrastructure, release engineering, or foundational backend platforms.
  • Strong architectural judgment with a bias toward simplicity, clarity, and long-term platform leverage.
  • Experience operating at hyperscaler or platform-provider scale.
  • Track record of owning and delivering complex, cross-team technical initiatives with org-wide or company-level impact.
  • Hands-on approach to leadership through building, debugging, reviewing, and shipping.
  • Ability to move quickly into unfamiliar technical areas and form strong opinions grounded in first principles.
  • Experience working at the intersection of infrastructure architecture, agentic AI systems, and large-scale delivery pipelines (preferred).

  • Annual cash compensation range of $266,200 to $425,900 USD.
  • Eligibility for annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan.
  • Eligibility for equity compensation in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs) for some roles.
