Description

  • Design and improve the AI website building experience across onboarding, generation flows, editing, and publishing.
  • Identify where generated output falls short of user expectations and work with the team to improve it.
  • Design AI interaction patterns such as prompts, previews, suggestions, and controls that feel natural and intuitive.
  • Use AI tools in the design workflow to prototype faster, generate test content, and explore ideas more quickly.
  • Research needs across a broad user spectrum, from first-time site builders to experienced WordPress users.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and AI teams on design decisions and model output.
  • Contribute to product decisions that help users create more personal and successful websites.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience designing consumer-focused tech products.
  • Generalist product design mindset with experience in UX research, interaction design, and visual craft.
  • Daily use of AI tools for exploration, variant generation, or research synthesis.
  • Comfortable with HTML/CSS basics for browser prototyping and engineer collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills, including presenting decisions, taking feedback, and pushing back when needed.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Amplitude, Hotjar, or similar.
  • A portfolio showing real product work, including process, thinking, and outcomes.
  • Experience designing AI-assisted or generative product features is a bonus.
  • Experience with dynamically generated product output is a bonus.
