Description

  • Design, build, and deliver backend systems and APIs in Go with an emphasis on clarity, maintainability, and backward compatibility.
  • Build and maintain full-stack product features across React, TypeScript, and Go.
  • Provide technical leadership by defining patterns, operational guidelines, and best practices for the team.
  • Plan, lead, and deliver complex multi-team projects, including work with external dependencies.
  • Collaborate closely with design and product partners in a triad model from discovery through delivery.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps and help shape quarterly product roadmaps.
  • Support and own software in production, including participation in on-call rotations.
  • Proactively address user pain points and balance feature work with production needs.
  • Mentor engineers, share knowledge, and delegate work to help teammates grow.
  • Communicate regularly in writing and verbally to align the team and multiply impact.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience designing, building, and maintaining backend systems.
  • Strong experience building APIs and backend services in Go or similar languages.
  • Professional experience delivering frontend features with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience leading complex technical projects across multiple teams or systems.
  • Ability to own projects end-to-end from planning through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Experience debugging issues across the full stack and proactively addressing tech debt.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers, leading technical design reviews, or raising team quality standards.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally and adjusting priorities to evolving customer or business needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including giving and receiving feedback.
  • Interest in observability and production culture, with prior experience supporting software in production.
  • Nice to have: proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.

  • Base salary of $251,900 to $283,000 CAD, based on level of experience.
