Description

  • Provide spiritual assessment, support, and guidance to hospice patients and families facing end-of-life issues.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to coordinate patient-centered care.
  • Lead rituals, ceremonies, and other spiritual practices that support patients and families.
  • Offer bereavement support for families experiencing grief, loss, and existential distress.
  • Conduct community outreach and education related to spiritual care and hospice services.
  • Recruit, train, place, and supervise volunteers who support hospice patients and families.
  • Provide patient and family support services through the volunteer program.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to volunteer coordination and program activities.
  • Travel as needed within the patient care area or assigned service area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in biblical studies, theology, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience providing spiritual care, chaplaincy, pastoral care, or counseling in a healthcare or hospice setting.
  • Board-certified chaplain status and/or one or more CPE units preferred.
  • Experience in volunteer management, community outreach, or a related area preferred.
  • Clean driving record with a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Strong background in spiritual care, counseling, and pastoral ministry.
  • Experience working in hospice or healthcare settings.
  • Willingness to travel as needed within the specified care area.
