Description

  • Enter manufacturer ingredient data into the Meal Planner software using manufacturer spec sheets and nutrient labels.
  • Capture all required ingredient fields, including nutrient profiles, allergens, pieces per case, serving information, and as-purchased versus as-prepared distinctions.
  • Identify anomalies, missing data, and ambiguous ingredient information and escalate them instead of guessing.
  • Use Slack as the primary channel to communicate discrepancies and questions with the in-house team.
  • Maintain near-perfect accuracy on compliance-relevant fields that feed recipe- and menu-level nutrient analysis.
  • Support data quality for USDA compliance by ensuring information is complete and precise.
  • Follow documented conventions consistently when recording structured ingredient data.

Requirements

  • Extreme attention to detail and the ability to sustain accuracy during repetitive data entry tasks.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the judgment to recognize when information does not make sense.
  • Comfort with structured, repetitive work without losing focus.
  • Strong written English communication skills for Slack-based escalation and collaboration.
  • Ability to follow documented conventions precisely, especially for ambiguous fields such as purchased versus as prepared.
  • Nutrition, food science, or dietetics background or coursework preferred.
  • Prior experience with ingredient, recipe, or menu management software preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. food labeling conventions and USDA terminology preferred.
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-driven data entry environments preferred.
