Description

  • Design and deliver mentor onboarding that prepares college-age mentors to lead sessions across classroom and club-based settings.
  • Build ongoing professional development through office hours, monthly live sessions, and coaching check-ins.
  • Create practical training resources such as videos, how-to guides, templates, and quick-reference sheets.
  • Review lesson plans and activities before rollout to ensure they are clear, feasible, and aligned to a 60-minute period and available supplies.
  • Translate curriculum content into mentor-ready training that explains how to run each activity in practice.
  • Partner with Regional Program Managers to support mentor training, accountability, and local implementation.
  • Collaborate with curriculum, program, and data teams to identify implementation issues, review fidelity data, and improve training.
  • Design training content in formats that match how college students consume information, including short videos, text tips, interactive modules, and LMS content.
  • Experiment with new mentor training formats such as podcasts and quick-tip video series.
  • Spend time in the field observing mentors, gathering feedback, and using insights to improve training relevance and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in education, instructional design, curriculum development, youth development, training and coaching, public health, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with instructional design frameworks and the ability to apply them in real-world, time-constrained settings.
  • Experience working with young adults, especially college students, and meeting them where they are.
  • Experience working across varied learning environments or age groups is a plus.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with learning management systems; LearnUpon experience is a plus.
  • Ability to create and edit video content.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Canva and ability to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Ability to travel nationally as needed, estimated at 10–15%.
  • Passion for youth development, health education, or addressing health disparities in community settings.
  • Strong facilitation skills for leading live training, office hours, and Zoom/Teams sessions.
  • Ability to give clear, supportive feedback and coach others effectively.
  • Collaborative communication skills with the ability to manage up and across teams.
  • Comfort working in a build-from-scratch environment with ambiguity and change.
  • Growth mindset and adaptability.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
