Description

  • Serve as an integral member of the Healthcare Policy and Quality Measurement division contributing to analytic projects and initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and implement analytic plans and statistical models to evaluate patterns of care and outcomes across healthcare datasets.
  • Manipulate and validate large, complex databases and cross-reference multiple data sources (claims, EHR, registries, surveys, eligibility, clinical, pharmacy, vital statistics, operational, etc.).
  • Conduct and interpret quantitative analyses and data exploration to support measure testing, national quality reporting, and health services research.
  • Present and communicate analytic results to non-analytic staff, customers, and stakeholders in clear, actionable formats.
  • Support analytic components of technical proposals and contribute to report writing and formal deliverables.
  • Attend, participate in, and assist with team training and represent HSAG professionally to clients and partners.
  • Lead small-to-medium analytic tasks or projects and provide mentorship or supervisory support to junior staff (opportunities to mentor/supervise).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social science, business, economics, math, statistics, or another quantitative discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • Analyst experience expectations: Analyst I—up to 2 years preferred but not required; Analyst II/III—2 to 4 years of work experience with at least 2 years of healthcare experience for Analyst II/III.
  • At least 2 years of statistics and/or quantitative analysis experience or completion of 2 years of undergraduate statistics/quantitative methods coursework.
  • Proficiency in Python or SQL for processing and analyzing large datasets.
  • Experience with Tableau is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based analytic environments such as Databricks, Spark, or Snowflake is preferred.
  • Familiarity or experience with SAS and/or R.
  • Experience contributing to report writing and formal written deliverables and some proposal-support experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with multiple teams.
