Description

  • Develop and maintain the Karavela internal engineering platform and the Vela AI assistant.
  • Build backend and frontend features for application provisioning, deploys, secrets, service catalog, and related platform workflows.
  • Orchestrate multiple AI agents and MCP tools while managing context, latency, and cost.
  • Implement real-time streaming responses and reliable conversation state handling.
  • Integrate the AI platform with sensitive internal approval, deployment, and provisioning flows in a secure and auditable way.
  • Design backend services that handle concurrency, events, and memory under production load.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary squad to deliver platform capabilities with autonomy and accountability.
  • Simplify complex technical operations into a user-friendly experience for developers.

Requirements

  • Solid experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Strong backend experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Strong frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous process orchestration.
  • Experience integrating with multiple services and APIs.
  • Ability to work with scale, concurrency, and reliability in critical systems.
  • Interest in building platform tools that abstract complexity for other engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, conversational agents, or MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a plus.
  • Experience with Temporal, Golang, Crossplane, and Backstage is a plus, with ability to learn new stacks quickly.
  • Good communication and collaborative mindset for working in a multidisciplinary squad.
