Description

  • Create new artwork and complete sets in Hadley Designs’ established style across product lines.
  • Illustrate original characters, motifs, patterns, and scenes that fit a cute, kid-friendly aesthetic.
  • Turn the Chief Creative Officer’s concepts and direction into finished, production-ready product designs.
  • Carry designs from initial handoff through final build-out with minimal back-and-forth.
  • Prepare print and production files to spec.
  • Build mockups and product previews for listings.
  • Maintain style consistency and keep the living style-reference updated as the catalog grows.
  • Support occasional ad-ops tasks such as A+ content, storefront updates, and CMYK ad images.
  • Handle revisions on existing product lines when needed.

Requirements

  • A portfolio of original illustration work showing a cute, playful, kid-friendly or product-design sensibility.
  • Working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for native illustration.
  • Ability to match and extend an existing art style so new pieces fit naturally with the originals.
  • Strong ability to take written and verbal creative direction and turn it into finished work.
  • Reliability on deadlines while managing several pieces at once.
  • Experience preparing print and production files to spec is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the children's, educational, or consumer-product space is preferred.
  • Comfort with lightweight project tools such as Notion and ClickUp, plus strong file organization.
  • This is an entry-level maker’s role, not a senior art director or veteran illustrator position.
  • Must be an early-career illustrator who can learn a style quickly and work independently from handoff to finish.

Benefits

  • Remote role with flexible working hours.
  • Remote-first work environment.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Access to learning resources and professional development.
  • Free access to Hadley Designs products.
  • Regular interaction with leadership, including the CEO and Chief Creative Officer.
  • Opportunity to learn directly from the Chief Creative Officer and build a portfolio of shipped product work.
  • Stability from a decade as a family-founded, mission-driven brand.
