Description

  • Own scalable policies, procedures, and operational frameworks for leave and accommodation programs.
  • Lead, develop, and set performance expectations for the leave and accommodations team.
  • Advise senior leaders, HR partners, managers, and employees on complex leave and accommodation matters.
  • Monitor legislative developments and ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, PWFA, state and local laws, and company policies.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of leave cases, including intake, eligibility, documentation, tracking, and return to work.
  • Manage disability claims, employee payments, benefit-premium reconciliations, and benefits eligibility processes.
  • Oversee third-party vendors and optimize leave and accommodation systems in partnership with HRIS.
  • Develop reporting and metrics to identify trends, mitigate risk, and improve employee experience.
  • Deliver education and resources on leave and accommodation policies to employees, HR, and managers.
  • Maintain complete and accurate leave and accommodation records in accordance with legal requirements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience leading a Center of Excellence or team of leave and accommodations practitioners.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local leave requirements and legal protections.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, employee benefits, flexible benefits, financial analysis, and budgeting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and calculations involving rates, premiums, and adjustments.
  • Experience with AbsenceSoft preferred; Kronos or Wurk experience also preferred.
  • Must pass background checks, hold a valid driver’s license, be at least 21, and obtain required state cannabis-industry approval.

Benefits

  • Primarily remote work environment; Chicagoland candidates preferred.
  • Annual salary range of $120,000–$150,000 USD, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
  • Potential eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive based on organizational and individual performance.
