Description

  • Create 15–25 calculation-heavy evaluation problems per month with exact numerical ground-truth answers.
  • Design problems covering Nirayana longitude derivation, Lagna degree computation, Dasha balance calculations, Ashtakavarga construction, Ashtakoot matching, and Shadbala computations.
  • Provide step-by-step mathematical derivations with formulas, intermediate values, and final results.
  • Produce problems across easy, medium, and hard difficulty levels, including edge-case and multi-system scenarios.
  • Verify each numerical answer using at least two independent Jyotish software tools.
  • Explicitly document assumptions such as Ayanamsa, year-length convention, rounding rules, and time-zone handling.
  • Track discrepancies across tools and document the rationale used to resolve them consistently.
  • Work an 8-hour day with 4 hours of overlap with PST during the 6–8 week contract.

Requirements

  • Formal training in Ganita Jyotish (mathematical astrology) or Siddhantic astronomy.
  • Ability to compute planetary longitudes using Surya Siddhanta and/or modern ephemeris-based methods.
  • Mastery of Ashtakavarga computation, including the full 8-planet contribution matrix.
  • Proficiency in Ashtakoot (Guna Milan) scoring across all 8 kootas, including exception rules such as Nadi Dosha exemptions and Bhakoot Dosha cancellations.
  • Experience with Jyotish calculation software such as Jagannatha Hora, Parashara Light, or equivalent.
  • Ability to use spreadsheet tools such as Excel or Google Sheets for batch verification and consistency checks.
  • Minimum 3 years of computational Jyotish practice and/or teaching.
  • Strong numerical accuracy, including degree–minute–second arithmetic, modular arithmetic for sign boundaries, and time-zone conversions.
  • Availability to work 8 hours per day with a 4-hour overlap with PST for a 6–8 week contractor assignment in India.
