Description

  • Enhance the querying experience by improving how queries are transformed, routed, and delivered at scale.
  • Influence the design of the microservice architecture.
  • Support the reliability, scalability, and operations of data sources in Grafana Cloud.
  • Engineer new connection types to remote data sources.
  • Collaborate with engineers and teams across the Grafana division.
  • Take an active role in shaping the roadmap and contributing to career objectives.
  • Work independently in a remote-first environment while communicating effectively through video and other team channels.
  • Participate in pragmatic AI-assisted development, including prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups.

Requirements

  • Professional experience as a backend engineer.
  • Expertise in cloud microservice architecture and systems design.
  • Strong experience with Go and Kubernetes.
  • Typescript and React are a plus.
  • Experience with AI/LLM-powered systems, including agentic workflows or developer efficiency tools.
  • Backend technology experience with Go and familiarity with other backend languages.
  • Experience with Jsonnet and Terraform.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience designing and developing software that runs in the cloud or in systems engineering.
  • Solid experience with distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with on-call work and operational/SRE tasks.
  • Experience with the latest LLM models and workflows.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote-first company with strong communication skills.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, or other observability platforms.
  • Bonus points for networking experience such as DNS, SSH, or SOCKS.

Benefits

  • Base salary range in the UK of £100,000 - £124,000.
  • Equity included in the compensation package.
  • Bonus eligibility, if applicable.
  • 100% remote, global work environment.
  • Global annual leave policy of 30 days per year.
  • 3 days of annual leave reserved for Grafana Shutdown Days.
  • Company-funded usage budget for modern AI coding assistants.
