Description

  • Drive technical strategy and roadmap for the Adaptive Telemetry area.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional initiatives from planning through long-term operation.
  • Own architecture, reliability, performance, and cost for critical systems.
  • Define SLOs/SLIs, lead high-severity incident response, and drive blameless post-mortems and systemic fixes.
  • Improve observability, automation, operational readiness, and capacity planning to reduce toil and MTTR.
  • Coordinate with Product, Design, and other teams to align priorities, negotiate tradeoffs, and remove blockers.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, lead design reviews, and raise engineering standards.
  • Represent the team internally and externally and communicate technical strategy to non-engineering stakeholders.
  • Support pragmatic AI-assisted development practices, including prototyping, test generation, refactors, and documentation.
  • Contribute to the design and operation of telemetry optimization products such as Adaptive Metrics, Adaptive Logs, Adaptive Traces, and Adaptive Profiles.

Requirements

  • This role is available to candidates located in the UK, Germany, Spain, Ireland, or Sweden.
  • Proven experience delivering and operating large distributed systems across multiple teams.
  • Strong systems design understanding, including latency, consistency, availability, scaling, and cost tradeoffs.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures such as microservices, containers/Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience defining SLOs/SLIs, capacity planning, performance tuning, and reliability work end to end.
  • Strong coding and design skills with clear, maintainable, well-tested code; Go is used, and Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar are also relevant.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted developer tools and ideally practical experience integrating them into team workflows.
  • Familiarity with messaging/streaming systems such as Kafka and observability tools such as Prometheus/Grafana or equivalents.
  • Ability to influence without authority in a remote-first, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Base salary range in Spain: €91,000 to €115,000, depending on level, experience, and skillset.
