Description

  • Lead a team of 20+ engineers, including managing managers and supporting individual growth through feedback and career conversations.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leadership to set goals aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive product vision by incorporating customer feedback and market trends.
  • Guide projects from ideation through planning, execution, and post-launch delivery.
  • Foster a psychologically safe environment that encourages experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Work across team boundaries and partner with other functions to solve customer problems.
  • Contribute to projects outside the team’s direct scope when needed.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality outcomes for the Logs group and its products.

Requirements

  • Director-level engineering people management experience with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Experience leading engineers, small teams, or initiatives and driving projects to successful outcomes.
  • Ability to manage complexity, align stakeholders, and improve team performance.
  • Strong bias toward action and ownership, with comfort navigating ambiguity in complex problem spaces.
  • Excellent remote collaboration skills across time zones and cultures, with clear and empathetic communication.
  • Deep customer focus and the ability to ground decisions in user needs and real-world impact.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability.
  • Comfort with AI-assisted tooling and curiosity about using AI-powered tools in team workflows.
  • Remote applicants must be based in Canada time zones.
  • Preferred: experience managing managers and growing engineering teams over time.

  • Base salary range of CAD 240,084 to CAD 288,101 in Canada.
