Description

  • Conduct thorough screening of expert profiles to ensure completeness, accuracy, and suitability.
  • Identify, assess, manage, and report compliance risks in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and regional compliance teams to resolve screening issues and daily challenges.
  • Support the firm’s compliance surveillance program by reviewing expert engagements against the GLG Compliance Framework.
  • Identify red flags and policy violations and perform deeper assessments on complex issues.
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal client service professionals on China-based expert queries and provide accurate policy guidance.
  • Apply a solution-oriented approach to complex compliance matters under tight deadlines and escalate issues with thoughtful analysis and risk assessments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compliance procedures, standards, and processes.
  • Assist with or lead internal training and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience in Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Legal background is preferred.
  • Strong internet-based research skills, including use of advanced search operators and public databases such as Tianyancha, China Judgments Online, and China Enforcement Information Disclosure Network.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.
  • Full professional fluency in both English and Mandarin, written and verbal, is mandatory.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a high volume of requests in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships based on mutual trust and respect.
  • Eagerness to learn about diverse industries and nuanced topics across the global economy.
