Description

  • Define and execute a unified market data strategy across crypto exchanges, decentralized venues, and traditional markets.
  • Design scalable, low-latency data architecture for tick-level, order book, and on-chain data.
  • Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for internal data platforms and external providers.
  • Build and manage relationships with crypto exchanges, data aggregators, and node providers.
  • Support commercial negotiations, licensing, and exchange agreements across crypto and traditional markets.
  • Ensure high-quality, normalized datasets through symbol mapping, schema standardization, and latency benchmarking.
  • Oversee ingestion of real-time market and on-chain data, including order books, trades, reference data, and funding rates.
  • Establish monitoring and alerting frameworks for data integrity and completeness.
  • Manage and optimize the global market data budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Partner with engineering to build high-performance pipelines, feed handlers, and distribution systems.
  • Support compliance with exchange licensing, redistribution rules, and crypto regulatory frameworks.
  • Work with trading, quant research, risk, and portfolio management teams to deliver market data solutions.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team and establish best practices for onboarding, validation, and lifecycle management.
  • Champion the thoughtful adoption of AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in market data management within a trading firm, hedge fund, or financial institution.
  • Deep knowledge of market data vendors, exchanges, and licensing models.
  • Strong understanding of trading workflows and asset classes including equities, futures, options, FX, and fixed income.
  • Experience with real-time, reference, and historical data types.
  • Proven experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing large budgets.
  • Experience with low-latency data systems, market data feeds, APIs, and streaming technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with on-chain data, blockchain nodes, and crypto data providers is a plus.
