Description

  • Build and maintain microservices using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
  • Architect and implement consumer-facing, high-scale systems with 99.9%+ uptime requirements.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous SLOs and SLAs and achieve them through architecture, testing, monitoring, and observability.
  • Design and drive technical strategy for API gateways, caching layers, and service contracts to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Lead cross-functional technical discussions and communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineering teams and establish best engineering practices to elevate technical quality and customer-first thinking.
  • Proactively identify and resolve scalability and reliability bottlenecks before they impact users.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of large-scope technical initiatives alongside engineering teams.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability practices to detect and prevent issues.
  • Transform struggling systems into highly scalable, resilient architectures with automated recovery mechanisms.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software development with experience building consumer-facing, high-scale, high-availability systems.
  • Proven track record architecting and maintaining 24/7 uptime services with stringent SLA requirements (99.9%+ uptime expectations).
  • Strong experience with AWS infrastructure ecosystem and cloud-native architectures.
  • Expert-level understanding of event-driven architecture, microservices, API gateways, caching strategies, and distributed system patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement resilient systems with automatic failover, circuit breakers, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Experience with load testing, performance optimization, and capacity planning for high-traffic systems.
  • Proven ability to rapidly transform struggling systems into highly scalable, resilient platforms.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and elevate technical teams and stakeholders.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
