Description

  • Own services that manage prescription processing from intake through handoff to pharmacy fulfillment.
  • Prepare prescriptions for fulfillment and delivery as quickly and accurately as possible through automation and manual coordination.
  • Enable partners to configure billing, benefits, and clinical workflows for their specific use cases.
  • Build and improve systems that support inventory management and high product availability.
  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, high-throughput software systems.
  • Mentor other engineers and promote best practices in software development and design.
  • Solve complex technical problems at the intersection of healthcare and e-commerce.
  • Help develop predictive systems and integrate ML-driven capabilities into workflows.
  • Improve pharmacist workflows by surfacing relevant safety and review information before dispensing.
  • Collaborate on technical approaches that support business growth and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience in a high-volume, high-throughput production environment.
  • Background in backend or full stack technologies.
  • Experience architecting complex systems for long-term maintainability, performance, and scalability.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with experience building resilient, high-throughput systems.
  • Track record of technical best practices, including code style, documentation, code review, bug fixing, and production issue mitigation.
  • Preferred experience with supply chain optimization systems.
  • Preferred proficiency with Alto’s tech stack, including Rails, Python, and PostgreSQL.
  • Preferred experience building and integrating predictive ML models.
  • Preferred experience designing and implementing service-oriented architectures.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment with a growth mindset.
  • Strong ownership mindset and a pragmatic, impact-oriented approach to problem solving.

  • Salary range of $148,000 to $185,000.
