Description

  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across versions from SQL Server 2008 through 2022 and beyond.
  • Administer and optimize AWS-based database environments, including Amazon RDS for SQL Server and EC2-hosted instances.
  • Design, deploy, and troubleshoot SSIS packages for data integration, transformation, and reporting workflows.
  • Monitor database performance using SQL Profiler and DMVs, and optimize queries and execution plans.
  • Implement and manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, log shipping, and backup/restore strategies.
  • Ensure database systems comply with HIPAA regulations and internal security standards.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell and T-SQL scripts to automate maintenance, monitoring, and health checks.
  • Partner with engineering, analytics, and operations teams to support data-driven initiatives and system reliability.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and contribute to infrastructure and process improvements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in production environments.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server 2012 through current versions, including upgrades and side-by-side migrations.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including RDS, EC2, S3, and IAM for database management and automation.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining SSIS packages for ETL processes.
  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and/or T-SQL for automation and system maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience working with healthcare data and HIPAA compliance requirements (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and their integration with SQL Server (preferred).
  • Ability to work remotely, with no hiring in Alaska, Delaware, District of Columbia, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, South Dakota, Utah, West Virginia, or Wyoming.
