Description

  • Architect and maintain Ava’s voice and workflow systems with a focus on uptime and low latency.
  • Design the internal delivery infrastructure needed to configure, monitor, and optimize AI performance behind the scenes.
  • Own technical unit economics by balancing AI quality, cost-per-call, and profitability within the $499/month model.
  • Make high-stakes technical judgment calls about feasibility, scalability, and readiness to protect product integrity.
  • Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle from initial code through live pilot outcomes.
  • Partner with the founder to define the product roadmap and cut features that threaten delivery or economics.
  • Build and lead a lean technical team with strong standards for code quality, logging, and audit trails.
  • Serve as the technical face of the company in fundraising and due diligence discussions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Direct experience with voice systems, conversational AI, or real-time AI workflows.
  • Experience deploying LLM-powered systems into production, not just prototypes.
  • Ability to architect and implement a long-term strategy for building and self-hosting custom models to meet legal and privacy needs.
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering, human-in-the-loop systems, and edge-case management.
  • Experience building service-heavy or managed platforms, not just pure SaaS products.
  • Comfort working closely with business leadership and owning delivery outcomes.
  • Preferred experience in legal tech, healthcare, or other trust-sensitive verticals.
  • Preferred experience running production systems with real-world users under time pressure.
  • Preferred prior founder or early-stage leadership experience.
