Description

  • Write the first lines of production code and set the technical direction for the company.
  • Lead execution end-to-end across product, engineering, and technical delivery.
  • Harden Ava’s voice and workflow systems for in-production reliability.
  • Establish core architecture, observability, and audit-trail standards.
  • Build the internal infrastructure for configuring, monitoring, and optimizing AI performance without increasing engineering headcount.
  • Own the trade-offs between AI quality and cost-per-call and maintain unit economics within the $499/month pricing model.
  • Represent the company to lawyers, partners, and investors as the technical voice of the venture.
  • Convert pilots into paying customers and expand the product roadmap beyond the front desk into additional AI staff roles.
  • Recruit and lead the founding engineering team and help establish the company culture.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping LLM-powered and voice systems into production environments where incorrect outputs had real consequences.
  • Full-stack confidence across applied LLMs, real-time voice and conversational AI, telephony, human-in-the-loop workflows, observability, and secure multi-tenant SaaS.
  • Strong convictions about reliability engineering, edge-case management, and the balance between AI quality and cost-per-call.
  • Experience building managed or service-heavy platforms with the discipline to scale delivery without scaling engineering headcount.
  • Comfort operating as a principal and making judgment calls such as when something will not scale or is not ready.
  • Strongly preferred: prior founder or early-stage technical leadership experience.
  • Strongly preferred: background in legal tech, healthcare, or another trust-sensitive vertical.
  • Strongly preferred: capability to self-host custom models to meet legal and privacy requirements.
  • Ability to submit a resume, LinkedIn profile, and a brief note explaining why the venture aligns with your goals as a founder.
