Description

  • Lead fund accounting, capital accounts, NAV calculations, and monthly fund financial reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly LP reporting packages, including narrative updates, performance reporting, and portfolio summaries.
  • Manage treasury operations, including bi-weekly cash reviews, inter-account transfers, and banking relationships.
  • Oversee corporate compliance, annual filings, board governance, entity maintenance, and registered agent coordination across all entities.
  • Drive budgeting and cash flow forecasting to support reporting and operating decisions.
  • Manage U.S. and Canadian tax compliance, including federal, provincial, state, local filings, and LP K-1s.
  • Own the insurance program, including D&O, E&O, cyber, general liability, and venture-related coverage.
  • Lead spin-outs end-to-end, including document negotiation, incorporation, and compliance and registration work.
  • Oversee portfolio finance activities, including cap table management, round modeling, option pools, secondaries, and equity grants.
  • Manage and coach the finance and accounting team and coordinate with external lawyers, tax accountants, fund admins, and other advisors.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in finance leadership roles.
  • Meaningful exposure to venture capital, venture studio, or private equity environments.
  • Direct experience with both fund-level and operating-company finance is preferred.
  • Comfort negotiating investment and spin-out documents alongside counsel.
  • Understanding of SAFEs, priced rounds, option pools, 409A valuations, and cap tables.
  • Fluency with fund mechanics, including NAV, capital calls, distributions, waterfall structures, and LP reporting.
  • Ability to drive corporate compliance, sales tax, and annual tax filings across multiple entities.
  • Experience managing a small finance and accounting team and external partners.
  • CPA required.
  • MBA, CFA, or JD/tax background is a plus but not required.
